2022 Kia Stinger Prices, Reviews, and Pictures

The 2022 Kia Stinger is a sports car for those who want performance without the high price tag. The four-door sedan is known for its agile handling and fast acceleration. It also boasts a spacious, feature-rich cabin, which costs less than comparable nameplates like Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

The Kia Stinger was launched in 2018 as the brand’s halo vehicle. It offers a more affordable option than luxury Japanese and German cars, but delivers riveting performance. The Stinger, which is the best-performing sedan in Kia’s history, puts South Korean marques on the radar of luxury sport sedan buyers. The Stinger features a sleek, fastback roofline with a refined cabin that is loaded with standard features and a large cargo area. A turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 300 horsepower in the Stinger’s base model. The Stinger’s higher trims are powered by a 368-hp twin turbo V6. Standard features include an eight-speed automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel driving. Despite not having the same name recognition as rivals like Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-Benz, Kia’s class competitor competes on price and practicality. This versatile grand tourer can be used for long, twisty road trips as well as mountain passes. The price of a loaded Stinger is $54,535. This is a higher price than its German counterparts.

Trims and Pricing

The 2022 Stinger is available in three trim levels from Kia: GT-Line (Gt1 and GT2) Customers can also upgrade the Stinger’s rear-wheel-drive configuration to an all-wheel-drive system for $2,200. We recommend the GT1 trim. The GT-Line trim is the most popular. We will explain.

The entry-level Stinger GT-Line starts at $37,135 and includes a $1,045 delivery fee. It also comes standard with heated front seat and heated leather-wrapped steering wheels. These luxury amenities are available at an additional cost to customers of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. The Stinger’s basic model has genuine leather upholstery. Competitors such as the BMW 3 Series or Mercedes-Benz C-Class have synthetic-leather upholstery. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless charging and Kia’s UVO infotainment with a 10.25 inch touchscreen are all standard technology.

The Stinger GT1 trim costs $44,735, and includes the 3.3-liter V6, an adaptive suspension, upgraded brakes, an adaptive steering, 19-inch wheels with performance rubber, a sunroof, power-adjustable passengers seat, and a sunroof. The Stinger GT1 is recommended for its powerful engine and additional performance features. Even with all these features, the GT1’s cost is still lower than its rivals.

The Stinger GT2 is a premium model that starts at $52,335. It features Nappa leather upholstery, heated back seats, a power-adjustable steering column, heated front seats, a hands free power liftback, upgraded LED headlights and Harman Kardon 15-speaker audio system. Front and rear parking sensors are included. There’s also a head-up display and surround-view parking camera.

Engine and Performance

The Kia Stinger sedan is a high-performance model. It offers two engines, the base model’s turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and the twin-turbo V6 that produces 368 horsepower. Each model is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. All-wheel drive is available on any of the Stinger’s trims. The V6-powered Stinger models can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed at 167 mph. They make a great sound, emitting a menacing grumble when they accelerate or pass slow traffic. The GT1 and GT2 have an adaptive suspension that absorbs bumps for a smooth ride. With its quick steering and assertive brakes, the Stinger is agile on back roads as well as planted in corners. The twin-turbo V6 engine in the upper trims of the Stinger performs on par with German luxury models, and easily matches the Lexus IS and Cadillac CT4 sedans.

The Stinger’s minimalist styling and clean lines are complemented by an elegant interior that features leather upholstery, metal accents and soft-touch plastic. The heated front seats and rear seats are comfortable and supportive. Buyers have the option of heated rear seats or ventilated front seats. Kia Stinger has a large cargo area, measuring 23.3 cubic yards behind the second row and 40.9 cubic yards when the seats are folded flat.
